Michelle Newsome


Michelle Newsome brings a history of successful sponsorship, fundraising, and revenue generating career to the Zan Wesley Holmes Outreach Center board. As a Business Development Executive, Michelle has a winning track record of sales and leadership experience as a Premium, Luxury Suite Sales, and Business Development Executive in the sports and entertainment industry. She spent over fifteen years selling in the sports and entertainment arena and sold over $50M in Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, and third party inventory and sponsorships. She was a top revenue producer and a member of the 2012-2013 NBA Suite Revenue Award team at American Airlines Center.

Prior to joining the American Airlines Center, Michelle had successful careers in Telecommunications, Marketing, Public Relations, Product Development, and Finance with Verizon, PageNet, and Nortel Networks. Most notably, Ms. Newsome served as the National Fundraiser for the Ron Kirk Senatorial Campaign. Michelle received her Bachelor of Business of Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin, and still bleeds burnt orange and white. It was at The University of Texas where Michelle began her sports industry career working for Host Communications and working in the Burnt Orange Foundation Room. Her fondest memories is traveling with the Men’s basketball team to Hawaii for the Rainbow Classic.

As an East Texas native from Gladewater, TX; Michelle is a true believer that creativity and customer excellence is critical to the success of any company. Michelle enjoys playing golf and running half marathons in her free time away from work and her philanthropic endeavors. She also relaxes with her Ruby Red King Charles Cavalier dog named Sara Lee.

Michelle sits on the boards for: Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Community Outreach Center (Director), Black Sports Professionals (Treasurer), and The Nineteen Condominium’s Home Owners Association (President). Michelle is also active with the SPCA of Texas.
